The mission of the Hillcrest Neighborhood Association (HNA) shall be to:
A. facilitate communication among residents/property owners;
B. maintain positive relations among residents, property owners, businesses, and other organizations within the boundaries of the HNA;
C. promote understanding with the City of Lawrence and Douglas County staff and elected leaders;
D. support and protect our neighborhood schools;
E. preserve and protect residential and historic aspects as well as natural resources; and
F. collaborate with other neighborhood associations on issue of mutual interest and/or benefit to the Lawrence community.
Membership
A. Any person, 18 years of age or older, residing in or owning property within the boundaries of the Hillcrest Neighborhood in the City of Lawrence, Kansas, will have the privilege of membership.B. Any person, 18 years of age or older,supporting the aims of HNA, yet not residing in or owning property within the neighborhood boundaries, shall have all rights of individual membership except for voting and holding office.
C. Any non-profit or business organization within the neighborhood boundaries may be an associate organizational member and shall have all the rights of individual members except for voting and hold office.
